What is our role in the handling of the health crisis in this country?

Let’s take the big view because what I’m talking to you about is not about you. It’s not really about your practice. It’s not about how you’re doing professionally. That’s not really the subject here. The subject is: how is the Country doing? How are we doing in relation to the Country? How are we doing in relation to solving the real problems out there? What will it take to handle this situation?

This is beyond the immediate problems of our personal finance and family schedule. Those are all important. But, what I have found (and it’s become part of my successful operating basis) is to the degree that I put all my attention on ME, ME, ME, I stop being effective out there. But, to the degree that I actually confront the true problem, the real scope of this national problem, and decide that I’m going to do something about it, my personal problems all resolve. I think you can imagine that.

When you’re on the right track, doing the right thing, things kind of line up in your life. When you don’t have a wide enough viewpoint about what it is that you’re doing, you’re not operating on a high enough purpose, you’ll have trouble. You’ll be struggling on various things. I can say that those types of things aren’t a problem for me anymore because I’m no longer working on Freddie, Freddie, Freddie. It’s not my income that I’m concerned about. It’s not my health that I’m concerned about. I’ve already taken care of those things. What I am concerned about is the health of this Country because I see a horrible situation developing that is accelerating at a rapid rate.

Each of us is going to inherit, in one way or another, the problems of this country. We try to do things to improve the situation for our children and grandchildren. We survive through our families, don’t we? What kind of health situation will be out there going into the next generation? How about the generation after that and the generation after that?

Dr. Frances Pottenger has one of the best studies on this. If you’re not familiar with Dr. Pottenger’s works you should get some of his books. Get the books on the Cat Studies, get the video on the Cat Studies and you’ll see what Dr. Pottinger predicted back in the ‘30s about what would happen to the human race within 3 to 4 generations. He proved conclusively with the cats in his experiments that if you fed them enough refined food, refined sugar and white flour, it would develop all the degenerative diseases that we see so commonly today. And this is what is absorbing so much of our gross domestic product, all of our energy and a tremendous amount of our free creativity all wrapped up in people being chronically, physically ill.

So, we certainly have a responsibility to our children, our grandchildren and their children to do something effective to change the health care situation in this country. One way or the other, there’s somebody who is going to be here on this planet, reaping the rewards of what we do or fail to accomplish. It’s a big job. We have a whole country to handle.

Fortunately, for this planet, what happens in this country tends to be what happens in other parts of the world. So, the good news is we don’t have to worry about the entire planet right off hand. What we really need to worry about is what’s going on here and what’s going to handle it.
